I read your post about Koba from the planet of the apes. I believe that he is the true hero of the story. He hated the way his thoughts and beliefs were portrayed in the film because he was ultimately correct, did everything he could to convince Ceasar of his thinking, and eventually had to take matters in his own hands.
Human interaction with apes created his ability to think this way. To understand that there is no true humanity in nature, just as the bear was going to kill Caesar and his son at the beginning of the film, humans were never going to allow them to continue their way of life. When he was called to defend his kind he saved them and killed the bear. He did the necessary thing.
