Angus is Merida's steed and close animal companion in the movie Brave.
Appearance[]
Angus is a Clydesdale horse, completely black with tufts of white over his face and hooves. He is usually seen wearing a saddle, although Merida sometimes rides him bareback when in a hurry.
Personality[]
Unlike Maximus, Angus displays few personality traits other than that of a common horse. He seems to be rather skittish for his massive size, as he accidentally threw Merida in his fear of the standing stones and showed reluctance in following her to the witch's cottage. He does show a level of concern and love for Merida, even though the relationship never extends past that of loyal pet and owner.
Powers and Abilities[]
Angus displays the same speed and stamina that a well-bred stable horse is known to have, but does not appear to have any special skills or abilities. He does seem to understand what Merida is saying to a limited degree, and have an unusual level of sentience.
Weapons[]
As a regular horse, Angus does not use any sort of weapons with the exception of his hooves.
Role in the Crossover[]
Angus usually serves as transportation for Merida in her adventures and also acts as an equivalent to Toothless. Merida likes to challenge Hiccup to races on Angus, even though the Night Fury usually wins.
Relationships[]
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]
Being the skilled dragon trainer that he is, it can be assumed that Hiccup would have an influence over other animals to some degree, and thus he would make good friends with the horse.
Jack Frost[]
Since Jack is portrayed as Merida's rival sometimes, Jack might be scared of him. Angus will probably not like him very much. As an animal, it is possible that he could see Jack.
Merida DunBroch[]
Merida and Angus have a close relationship. Although the horse can't understand her, Merida treats Angus as her confidant and loyal partner.
Rapunzel Corona[]
Rapunzel has always had a way with animals and would win the big horse's heart instantly.
